SHAKESPEARE YOUTH FESTIVAL FREE INTRO WORKSHOP
MONDAY 14TH MAY, 6PM – 8.30PM
ARC, STOCKTON ON TEES
The Shakespeare Schools Festival are launching the Shakespeare Youth Festival (SYF) a new and exciting arts project that gives 16 to 21 year olds across the UK the opportunity to set up their own theatre company and stage an abridged Shakespeare play in a professional theatre – with complete creative ownership.
Together with partnership theatres SYF will provide mentoring, scripts, workshops and much more to help young people across the North East with or without experience to stage, direct, design and perform their show in March 2008. We will be holding free introductory workshops at the Ouseburn Farm and Education Centre on Wednesday 2nd May and the Arc, Stockton on Tees on Monday 14th May and invite young people (and teachers or youth group leaders if interested) to come along and find out more.
The introductory workshop is NOT an audition, its an….
1. opportunity to meet each other e.g. company mentors, young people and staff
2. for us to tell you what SYF can offer you
3. for you to decide whether you want to do it
For more information, alternative dates and venues around the country or to sign up for a workshop visit www.syf.uk.com or call the SYF office on 020 7786 6497.
